Cultural Leadership Committee
Mandate
- To monitor the response of the City to the Citizens' Task Force on
Culture
- To assist City Council in articulating the vision which should guide
cultural planning and policy
- To participate in the strategic planning activities of the City of
Ottawa Department of Community Services
- To create ad-hoc consulting groups based on discipline and interest
in order to gauge community needs and positions on issues of interest to
smaller segments of the cultural community.
The Committee reports to City Council through the Community Services
and Operations Committee, in partnership with the Department of Community
Services, and, where appropriate, in concert with other City Departments.
Composition
Total Membership: 15 - staggered terms of two years.
The Committee should achieve a balanced representation from a range
of cultural activities including working artists and arts supporters, and
heritage specialists and supporters.
Meetings
2nd Monday of each month, starting at 7:00 pm, in the Guigues Room,
City Hall.
Quorum
50% of Committee plus one.
