Museums

Ottawa’s rich history and heritage goes back 200 years. Enjoy the Billings Estate National Historic Site, Cumberland Heritage Village, Pinhey's Point Historic Site, and other local museums.

Billings Estate National Historic Site

The Billings Estate was built in 1829 by Braddish Billings and is Ottawa's oldest wood-framed house. Visitors can learn about the Museum and its collections through its exhibits, educational programs, special events and workshops.

Cumberland Heritage Village

Explore the 1930s Cumberland Heritage Village. See an operating sawmill, one-room schoolhouse, a farm, fire hall, train station and church. Costumed interpreters also recreate rural life in the early depression era.

Pinhey's Point Historic Site

See Pinhey's Point, an 88-acre historic site located on the scenic shores of the Ottawa River. The stone house, built from 1821 to 1849, offers exhibits, artifacts, period room re-creations and children's activities.
