Ontario Works services

Through Partners for Jobs, the City offers services to Ontario Works participants to help you look for and keep a job. Through Partners for Jobs there are also special recruitment services employers and the community.

Social Service Centres (SSCs) and resource areas

The Social Service Centres provide services and support, including a resource area that is open to the public on a drop-in basis. You can access a range of free services, including:

  • Computers, printers, fax machines, photocopiers and phones
  • Job postings and Internet for job search
  • Employment and computers workshops
  • Help from trained staff
  • On-site child care for children ages six months to six years

The Youth Zone Jeunesse is a centre for youth between the age of 16 and 30 that provides employment services in addition to information on housing, legal issues, education, training and more.

Child care

There are subsidies that can help you pay for daycare at a licensed child care centre or home agency for children between six weeks and 10 years of age. .
