Housing
The Housing branch provides a continuum of housing and housing support services to sustain and enhance social housing, promote options for increasing the supply of affordable housing, ensure the delivery of emergency and supportive housing services, and manage the development and implementation of a community action plan to prevent and end homelessness.

Shelters
There are several types of emergency shelters in Ottawa. Shelters offer meals, refuge and case management, and ensure that all clients are assessed and referred to the social and health services they need. Each shelter has a housing support worker to help clients find housing in the community.
If you or someone you know needs shelter, please call the City and make a request for placement. A placement officer will refer you to the best available shelter.
