Maximizing Our Assets:
Partnering for Participation and Inclusion

Maximizing Our Assets, a report produced by People with Disabilities: A Community Coalition, represents the preliminary findings of the Community Coalition's 'Partnering for Participation and Inclusion' Project. The City of Ottawa and United/Centraide funded the project with the intent of developing a baseline that defines the community life experience of Ottawa residents with physical disabilities, hearing and vision loss. The project was also designed to produce an inventory of services and programs that agencies are providing to this segment of the population.

The Coalition is a broad-based coalition of community organizations and volunteer groups serving people with disabilities, self-advocates, members of the disability community and government representatives. Its goal is to have persons with disabilities recognized as contributing citizens with equal access, who are valued by society in every state and at every stage of their life.
