Agency Letter of ApprovalThe Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario requires an Agency Letter of Approval from "Building, Fire and Health" authorities where applicants wish to sell alcoholic beverages in a licensed premise for indoor and/ or an outdoor use. Applicants must contact By-law and Regulatory Services at 613-580-2424, ext. 31514 for additional assistance and information on processing your application. These forms are available on line at http://www.agco.on.ca You may submit the completed application form, required submission documents, and fee at any Client Service Centre. Liquor Sales Licence Application - Checklists and Guides: http://www.agco.on.ca/pdf/forms/1202B.e.pdf Building Code:When requesting Ontario Building Code approval from Building Services Branch, applicants must provide a floor plan (seating plan) indicating tables and chairs, washrooms, exits, etc., and a site plan. A Building Official will verify the zoning designation of the premises and conduct a site visit to confirm that the requirements for the occupancy load under the Ontario Building Code are met. Fire Prevention:Prior to Fire Prevention conducting the inspection, the premises must be ready to open with chairs, tables etc. If there is a Patio that requires an inspection, the Patio must have tables, chairs etc. set up as well. If the premise required approval under the Ontario Building Code, there must be compliance with the Building Code prior to the Fire Inspection. A minimum of 10 business days is required to process an application for a Fire Inspection. If further information is required, please call 613-580-2424 x15370. Health:When requesting Health Protection and Promotion Act approval from Ottawa Public Health, applicants should contact their Public Health Inspector either directly or by calling 580-6744, extension 23748 to arrange for an inspection. They should also have their application form available for the Inspector during the visit. Licensing:Your business may require a Business License.
