Are You Drinking Enough?


Water is essential for life...you can live only a few days without water.

When do I need to drink?

  • Drink when you're thirsty, drink when you are not thirsty, and drink in between!

How much should I drink?

  • For most people, you need at least 2 litres of fluids per day. If you are active, you will need more.

What should I drink during physical activity?

Drink water, fruit juice and/or milk throughout the day.

  • Water is great for physical activities lasting an hour or less.
  • Diluted fruit juices make tasty choices, especially if you need some extra energy for activities longer than one hour.

Fruit juices are full of vitamins and minerals

  • Each ½ cup (125 ml) of juice counts as 1 serving of fruit.

TIP! Put ½ cup (125 ml) of your favourite juice in your 2 cup (500 mL) bottle and fill it up with water. Wash your bottle often!
