We've all heard about telework - some of us have tried it, and a few of us do it regularly. In some cases telework just isn't an option, but other workplaces encourage it. Working from home cuts down on your costs and lets you concentrate on the task at hand. Check with your employer about different options for telework.

Other household chores, such as banking and paying bills, can also be done with a telephone or a computer. Most banks offer safe, reliable and affordable telephone and Internet banking. In fact, transactions may be cheaper than making cash withdrawals or writing a cheque, and you can pay your bills by pressing a few buttons instead of buying a stamp and sending a letter.

Conference calling is something most of us associate only with work, but why not use it at home? It might allow you to spend the day at home instead of heading to the office. It can also free you up from travelling to nighttime community meetings. New technologies are being developed all the time that allow you to accomplish more from the comfort of your own home.
