Funding Opportunities

Partnerships are an innovative way for both the community and the City to benefit from enhancements and additions to recreation services. The Parks and Recreation branch welcomes applications for the community partnership major and minor capital program grants.

The Community Partnership Major Capital Program is an initiative to implement major capital improvements and additions to facilities related to parks and recreation on a cost-sharing basis between the City and community groups.

The Community Partnership Minor Capital Program provides for minor capital improvements to city-owned parks, recreation and cultural facilities on a cost-sharing basis with community groups. Examples include: play equipment, basketball courts, park furniture, tree planting, landscape improvements, minor community facility improvements.

The City of Ottawa also offers a Fee Assistance Program to ensure that all residents have access to municipally offered recreation programs and activities regardless of their ability to pay. If you are already a participant in a community or social service agency program, or if you are a low-income individual (or family), you may qualify for the service.
