Creating an iGoogle Account
- Go to http://www.google.ca/ig & Click on “Sign In” (top right corner of the page)

- If you already have a Google account, sign in now. If you do not have a Google account, click on “Create an account now”

- Fill out the required information & enter the word verification

- Review the terms of agreement and click on the button “I accept. Create my account.”

- Your account is now setup and you will be redirected to your new iGoogle page. Your page will already contain some content which can be customized (described in how to add/edit/delete content below).
Adding RSS Feeds to your iGoogle page
- Go to the URL of the RSS feed you want to add (ex: http://biblioottawalibrary.ca/RSS/rss_e.cfm) and click on the feed (should be a .xml page). RSS content will typically be flagged with the RSS logo:


- Copy the URL and go to your iGoogle page. Click on “Add Stuff”

- Click on “Add feed or gadget”

- Paste the .xml URL into the box and click the “Add” button

- Click on “Back to iGoogle home to return to see your new feed.
Adding Gadgets to iGoogle
- Gadgets are pre-packaged content listed with iGoogle. You can search for and add Gadgets by clicking on “Add stuff”

- Either enter a search term (such as time zones, area codes, etc) into the Search for gadgets box; or browse the gadgets list.

Removing content from your iGoogle page
- Click on the X in the top right corner of any feed to remove it from your iGoogle page.

Editing Settings for each feed
- Click on the drop down arrow in the top right corner of a feed box and select “Edit Settings”

- Modify the settings and click “Save”

Changing the look of your iGoogle page
- Click on “Select Theme” from your main iGoogle page

- Click the “Add it now” button under the theme you want

Categorizing your RSS feeds
You can organize your feeds into different categories through the Tabs feature.

- Click on Add a tab to create a new category/page.
- To add content to that page make sure that tab is selected when you click on “Add stuff”.
- You can also drag content to different tabs by left-clicking on the top portion of a feed box, holding down the button, and dragging the box to another tab and releasing the mouse button over the box to drop it.
